Peel and Stick Tiles - Can You Help?

May 19th, 2007 at 05:40 am

We have almost decided to lay "peel and stick" vinyl tiles in our kitchen and dining room. We would like to hear pros/cons on vinyl tiles.

Are they durable? Do they really stick? Do they come loose easily? Should we add more adhesive when applying them? Any help and direction will be greatly appreciated.

We hate to make an investment of money, time, and labor on something that is not going to hold up for the long term.

I've used peel and stick w/great success. MAKE SURE the floor is properly prepared. It has to be clean and free of dust and dirt. Also, there are are different types of "glues" that you can mop on first to give it an "extra stick." Other than that, just follow the directions on the box and use knee pads or some type of foam under your knees.

Hello, I did a kitchen floor with them. They were easy to install and haven't seen a problem with them yet. (Over two years of use so far). We selected ones from Lowes that were mid priced. We've been pleased.

I have never used them but HGTV raves about them, and my beautician actually laid them in her shop which was nice
